I love to learn! I believe it is a lifelong process that is exciting, infinite, and, best of all, can be experienced by each and every person. In choosing education as my profession, I thrive to instill in students a joy and a thirst for knowledge by providing a safe, constructive and technology-rich environment with high-quality teaching, expectations and goals. My goal in pursuing this degree is to become a 21st century educator in order to facilitate the learning process for the vast approaching and ever evolving 21st century learners.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Southern University and a Master of Arts in Education with a focus in counseling from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB). In addition, I have also earned a certification in Educational Leadership from UTPB. Given this, my 16th year in education, I began my teaching career as a mathematics teacher for nine years and am currently a secondary high school counselor. On a personal note, I am a single parent of a young lady whom is in her third year at UNT. I currently live in Allen, Texas.
